Winner of the World Award for Humanism for 2022, with which the Ohrid Academy of Humanism celebrates the name of St. Clement on all the world's meridians, is Dalimír Hajko, philosopher, essayist, literary critic and professor at the University of Žilina, Slovakia.
Professor Hajko is the sixteenth recipient of this exceptional recognition with which Ohrid, the city of UNESCO, has already crowned the Nobel laureates Alexandr Solzhenitsyn, Herta Muller, world legends Daisaku Ikeda, Ravi Shankar, Peter Brook, Manuel De Oliveira, awakening the sources of spiritual memory, from the first medieval school of humanism, founded by the students of St. Cyril and Methodius, the protectors of Europe.
In a letter to the President of the International Jury, Ambassador Jordan Plevnes, Professor Dalimír Hajko said: "I would like to thank you for sending me the decision of the International Jury of the Ohrid Academy of Humanism. It is my honor and pleasure to accept the nomination for this prestigious award and to join the list of distinguished winners of the past. My deepest gratitude goes to the Ohrid Academy of Humanism, to the international jury, and its members and to the President, who nominated me. It will be a great honor and pleasure for me to receive the award in person in the beautiful city of Ohrid."
The award ceremony will be held on January 18, during the celebration of the great holiday, Epiphany, at the house of Urania of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MANU), with addresses from the President Jordan Plevnes, and from the Mayor of Ohrid, Mr. Kiril Pecakov. The Mayor of Ohrid will present the award to Dalimír Hajko, in the presence of a larger international assembly of guests, including representatives and mayors of the sister cities of Ohrid from Europe, and cities under the patronage of UNESCO. Afterwards, the laureate Hajko will address the audience with his sermon. The next day, January 19, 2022, an International Online Conference will be held, entitled: "Ohrid School of Humanism from the Middle Ages untill today, in Europe and the world", which, among others, will be attended by the President of MANU, Ljupco Kocarev, prof. Jean-Patrick Connerade - President of the European Academy of Arts, Sciences and Letters in London, Ralica Ruseva - Art Historian, Sofia-Bulgaria, Ricardo Brizi - Sociologist from the University of Bologna, Italy, Professor Fabrice Dalmeida - Professor Pantheon Assas II, France, amoung others.
